Abigail Best Electrolysis is licensed by Huntingdon District Council and uses Apilus electrolysis equipment and needles.

Electrolysis is the only proven method of hair removal and dates back to the 1800s when Dr Charles E. Michel used this technique to remove ingrowing eyelashes. This is a completely safe treatment using disposable equipment and gloves with treatment programmes created for your individual needs.

No two clients will receive the same treatment as the reasons for unwanted hair growth can vary from person to person.

If you have an underlying medical condition such as Polycystic ovary syndrome or are taking medication that can cause hair growth, you may require more frequent treatments over a longer period and we may need to contact your doctor to clarify your treatment needs.

Transgender Electrolysis

With over 30 years of experience as an Electrolysist, Abigail has also completed the Sterex Specialist Electrolysis Course which specialises in Transgender Electrolysis and more recently the BIAE Transgender course. 

Each client will have their own individual requirements and based on this, an individual treatment plan will be created.

The initial consultation costs £30.00.             

It may be necessary to work with your doctor or consultant to ensure that the treatment plan created is best suited to your needs and future requirements, particularly relevant for Pre GRS treatment to ensure all necessary hair is removed before surgery.

For treatment to be successful in a timely fashion, you will need to attend regular appointments. The more often you attend the quicker the results. 

In February  2023 Abigail refreshed her training in this area gaining the latest knowledge and techniques through the BIAE.

Advanced Cosmetic Procedures

Abigail has been qualified for many years in  Advanced Cosmetic Procedures but until recently decided to focus on permanent hair removal.

Abigail is pleased to announce that she is re-introducing this service into her clinic and will be treating the following blemishes.

• Telangiectasia - Broken veins

• Cherry angiomas - raised red blood spots

• Campbell de Morgan - flat red blood spots

• Fibro epithelial Polyps - Skin tags

• Epidermal Keratin cysts - Milia

Blemish treatment is carried out using Apilus or Sterex electrolysis equipment and uses a small electrical current to treat or remove any unwanted blemishes on the face and body. 

Alongside permanent hair removal, this is a highly specialised process requiring a consultation and patch test prior to starting any treatment. 

The consultation Costs £120.00 and includes the cost of a patch test and any aftercare needed as a result. 

As part of the consultation, Abigail will go through a medical questionnaire to check you are medically safe to receive treatment. If anything medical arises we may write to your doctor or consultant prior to starting any treatment.
